Background
Mrs. Dubose, whose full name was Lafayette Ahush Dubose, was a dedicated and experienced English Language Arts teacher. She spent many years inspiring students through her teaching, first working in the Commack Central School District for 15 years before continuing her career in the Kings Park Central School District. Mrs. Dubose lived in Commack and was known for her strong passion for literature and helping students grow as readers and writers. Sadly, she passed away due to complications related to a morphine addiction. Despite the challenges she faced, her impact on her students and colleagues continues to be remembered.
